‘Trees’ is a contemporary home set within a Conservation Area and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
‘Trees’ is a piece of architecture that seeks to respect and enhance the mature landscape character of the site. The dwelling quietly integrates with the setting and through the use of natural materials has been allowed to weather in synchronicity with its immediate environment.
‘Trees’ is simply an elevated form set within the tree canopy, visually detached from the landscape below.
The site and surrounding landscape have a natural visual depth that is generated by the layering of the various tree canopy’s. Light and shadow interplay to create a visual filter as you move through the garden. The timber-clad form responds to its setting through the set back and layering of solid and void plains, punctuated by timber slatted screens. The combined effect seeks to create intrigue and soften the visual impact of the structure and thereby facilitate its integration into the landscape.
